Google Chrome Attracts Over 200 Million Downloads

If you haven’t already used the Google Chrome webbrowser, I highly recommend you try it out. It’s a fantastic web browser — so good, in fact, that it has now attracted over 200 million downloads.
Google’s CEO Larry Page announced the news during an earnings calls this week, and also noted that there are now a staggering 190 million Android phones out in the market, and 40 million users logging into Google+. Page didn’t reveal how many of those 200 million Chrome downloadswere actually active users, but even so, those numbers are pretty impressive.
The news follows a report from the beginning of August which revealed Google Chrome is nowBritain’s second most popular browser, knocking Mozilla’s Firefox into third place with nearly a quarter of the market share. Its increasing popularity, here in the U.K. especially, is believed to be largely thanks to Google’s heartfeld TV advertising campaigns which have recently received considerable praise.
Page also announced during the call that Google’s workforce has risen 10% with 31,353 people now working for the company. When it comes to cash, Google has a net income of $2.73 billion, up from $2.17 billion in 2010; and revenue is at $9.72 — a 33% increase year-on-year.
Are you surprised that Google Chrome has attracted over 200 million downloads?
