Anonymous vows to kill Facebook

Anonymous has vowed to destroy Facebook on November 5th in a coup against the the Mother of All Social Not-Working sites.
The hacker group says it's had a gutsful of privacy problems and the difficulty involved in deleting a Facebook account.
It is not the first time that Anonymous has had a pop at social networks. Google removed Anonymous' Gmail and Google+ accounts and Anonymous pledged to create its own social network, called AnonPlus.
The text of the announcement, made on YouTube said that the medium of communication the great unwashed so dearly adore will be destroyed.
"If you are a willing hacktivist or a guy who just wants to protect the freedom of information then join the cause and kill Facebook for the sake of your own privacy," the notice said.
The outfit claimed that Facebook has been flogging information to government agencies and giving clandestine access to information to security firms so that they can spy on people from all around the world.
"Changing the privacy settings to make your Facebook account more "private" is also a delusion. Facebook knows more about you than your family," the outfit said.
It dubbed Facebook the opposite of the Antisec cause. People are not safe from them nor from any government.
"One day you will look back on this and realise what we have done here is right, you will thank the rulers of the internet, we are not harming you but saving you," the outfit promised.
Of course if it fails we will be lighting fireworks and kids will be asking for a penny for the Vendetta doll instead of the Guy.  Still you have to move with the Times, or the News of the World.
